| About RPM | |||||
| Now would be a good time to explain the RPM or | |||||
| Racing Performance Measurement. Essentially | |||||
| your RPM score is a running measurement of your | |||||
| driving ability. It is a weighted system, meaning | |||||
| the higher your opponents | |||||
| scores the better | |||||
| chance you have to gain | |||||
| points; conversely, if you | |||||
| have a higher score than those you are racing with, | |||||
| you are at a higher risk of losing more points. | |||||
| All racers start with 1200 points. Everytime you | |||||
| race, you get 5 points. This means you can race | |||||
| alone and still advance your RPM score. However, | |||||
| if you are racing with others your score is computed | |||||
| at the end of the race depending on how you | |||||
| finished as well as how difficult the compeition | |||||
| was. | |||||
| For example, let’s say Joe has an RPM score of | |||||
| 1500, Bridgette has a score of 4250 and Dominic | |||||
| is a new racer with 1200. If all three of our racers | |||||
| enter a race and Dominic wins, he is going to win | |||||
| a substantial amount of RPM points. However, if | |||||
| Bridgette wins, she will win points but not nearly | |||||
| as many as Dominic because she is besting racers | |||||
| that are below her RPM level. Also, if the same | |||||
| three are in a race, Bridgette is risking the most | |||||
| points because if she loses to | |||||
| Dominic she stands to lose a lot of points, whereas | |||||
| if Dominic loses to Bridgette, he will lose points | |||||
| but not nearly as many. | |||||
| It should also be noted that points are only created | |||||
| when a new user is created, meaning all the computations | |||||
| and point winning and losing in races are in | |||||
| direct correlation with one another, i.e., if Dominic | |||||
| wins 125 points in a race with Bridgette, that means | |||||
| Bridgette has lost 125 points. | |||||
